Join local singer-songwriter Luke DeRoy for a monthly Songwriter Development Circle—an open, supportive space for musicians and writers of all levels to explore the art and craft of songwriting.

Each session centers on a focused songwriting technique or creative theme, offering participants new approaches to strengthen their work. Writers are invited to share songs-in-progress, explore ideas, and receive thoughtful, constructive feedback from both Luke and fellow participants. Whether you’re polishing a new single or writing your very first song, this circle is designed to encourage creativity, connection, and musical growth in a welcoming, low-pressure environment.

About the Pond Lily Project Artist Mentor - Luke DeRoy

Luke DeRoy is a professional musician based in the Pioneer Valley. A former songwriting major at Berklee College of Music, Luke now teaches and performs both locally and online through Patreon, YouTube, and Instagram. His passion is helping songwriters discover their unique voice and deepen their craft through community-based learning and creative exploration.

What to Expect

  • Supportive conversation and collaboration with fellow writers

  • Bring your notebook, instrument, or just your curiosity

Beginning February 2026, the Songwriter Development Circle will be open to the public on a sliding scale of $5–$15, and offered at no cost to Pond Lily Project Artists in Residence as part of their program benefits.

About the Pond Lily Project

The Pond Lily Project is a community-based artist residency and creative development initiative hosted by The National Spiritual Alliance in Lake Pleasant, Massachusetts. Rooted in collaboration, mentorship, and place-based creativity, the project supports local and regional artists through workshops, peer learning, public programs, and opportunities for creative growth. The Pond Lily Project is supported in part by the Montague Cultural Council and the Massachusetts Cultural Council, helping make arts programming accessible and inclusive.
