This foundational class explores the history, philosophy, and living tradition of Spiritualism while inviting participants to reflect on what it means to embody Spiritualist principles in everyday life. Students will trace the development of the movement from its historical roots through its evolution into a contemporary spiritual path grounded in personal experience, service, healing, and connection.

Participants will explore the origins of Spiritualism, key historical figures and movements, the Principles of Spiritualism, and how these ideas continue to shape spiritual practice and community today.

Designed for both newcomers and longtime Spiritualists, this course encourages thoughtful discussion, historical understanding, and personal reflection on spiritual identity and practice.

This course is one of the six required core classes for those pursuing mediumship certification through the Tabor Thompson Institute (TTI) from The National Spiritual Alliance. Completion of the full core curriculum, along with additional requirements and demonstrated development, forms the foundation of TNSA certification pathways.

Classes are held in person at The National Spiritual Alliance and run approximately 2–3 hours.

This course may be taken individually or as part of the full six-course TTI Core Course Series.
