An Evening of Songs that Evoke the Spirit

Michael and Carrie Kline's lives are inspired by Appalachian music and culture. Their performances travel from ancient caves to kitchen music. As folklorist-musicians, their music carries the songs with truth and authenticity. The band also features three Valley greats: Joe Blumenthal, known widely for his upright bass accompaniment in Klezmer, Arabic, Balkan, Bluegrass and Old-Time settings, Jim Armenti, a beloved name in Western Mass, known as a band member for the Young At Heart Chorus and the Lonesome Brothers. Here he performs his dynamic mandolin work, and Claire Dacey, singer-songwriter of music of the heart and the natural world, who opens her throat and emanates beauty and power, accompanied by her stirring viola playing.
